In this video, we cross into Portugal by sailboat, our 8th country on this sailing journey from Sweden! How incredible is that!? 🇵🇹
After one of the stormiest winters Spain and Portugal have seen in years, we’re finally back on the move south again. But the Atlantic still keeps us on our toes with rolling swell, tricky conditions, and even a close call with fishing nets.
We left Sweden in June last year to start our liveaboard sailing adventure through Europe with our dog Nora, our four-legged skipper. From the Baltic Sea through the English Channel, across the Bay of Biscay, and now sailing south along the Portuguese coast, we’re slowly making our way toward the Mediterranean. ⛵️
Portugal is a completely new country for us, and it feels incredible to finally have sunshine and spring weather again after months of storms and endless rain.☀️

If you're new to our channel, welcome! 🩵 We’re Linn and Erik, a Swedish couple in our late 20s who quit our jobs, rented out our apartment, and set off to sail from Stockholm to the Mediterranean together with our sausage dog. We started the journey in our unique 33 foot sailboat from 1980, which we sold in Kiel, and luckily one week after we bought a new boat, a Bavaria 37, from 2000 more suited for our adventures ahead.

In 2026, Swedish sailors Linn and Erik live full-time aboard their Beneteau Oceanis 45 on the French Riviera with their miniature dachshund, Nora. Having resigned from corporate careers in Stockholm, they successfully navigated the Baltic Sea, English Channel, and Atlantic Iberia to reach the Mediterranean. The crew manages their own digital cruising guide business while documenting the technical realities of off-grid sailing, cross-border yacht upgrades, and extensive offshore passage making.
