They say never make plans in the cruising life. Well we got a first hand lesson in that this week. We made our way to the naval academy bridge and slept under it’s beautiful lights listening to the light sound of traffic. We woke up the awesome morning calls of the naval academy nearby and had plans to practice sailing for the day and to explore Annapolis some more but we got a call from The Rigging Company that they’d be able to look at our mast. So we motored over quickly and we had another round of getting our mast sealed up.
That night, we were given a light show by mother nature which was spectacular but it also revealed that our mast was still leaking. So the next day we went into a slip to get more intensive repairs done and that’s when things went downhill quickly.
We lost all control of our boat and nearly crashed into the other boats in the marina. Thankfully it all ended without any injuries but it did mean another haul out. Just as we do with everything else, we rolled with the punches and made the best out of our time on the hard. Join us for the Great Winch off of 2021 and see who makes it to the top!!!
