Over the past several months we have had our videos, both long form and shorts, MISTAKENLY Age Restricted per YouTube Community Guidelines. This results in drastically fewer views, virtually no ad revenue, and a negative appearance of our channel as a whole.
We fought YouTube on every occasion and after several days and dozens of emails, the restrictions were removed. HOWEVER the video never regains traction and does not continue to gain views, as it would have prior to the restriction.
In every instance YouTube outright refuses to tell us what is wrong in the video or at what timestamp we are in violation. We have no way of knowing how to “fix” our videos.
We are being forced to consider other means of income, changing platforms, business models, etc. YouTube is knowingly causing harm to thousands of creators just like us. It’s not healthy to be here, and has turned an enjoyable online environment, toxic.
YouTube has told us in one of the MISTAKENLY age restricted videos that it was restricted due to our community reporting it. YouTube removed the restriction when it was determined not in violation, but has done nothing to prevent future community reporting issues.
