Hello Friends,

I made this video to walk you though how to Document your boat with the USCG.

Here are the things you will need : all of these forms can also be found at http://www.uscg.mil/nvdc

1. Application (CG – 1258) (this number is the USCG form number)
You can download the application here :
https://www.dco.uscg.mil/Portals/9/DCO%20Documents/NVDC/CG-1258.pdf?ver=2017-05-09-113142-067

2. Simplified Measurements Form (CG – 5397)
You can download the form here :

3. A scanned copy of your boat’s Title and State Registration

4. Credit Card Authorization Form (CG – 7042)
You can download the form here :

And thats all you need !

Here is a link to all of the fee prices (at the time this video was uploaded in May of 2020) : https://www.dco.uscg.mil/Portals/9/DCO%20Documents/NVDC/INITIAL.pdf?ver=2018-12-28-130935-913

UPDATE: Our Patron, Mitchell Thomas, sent us this link clarifying that if your boat is documented with the USCG in California you do NOT have to pay state registration!

If the links to the forms are broken in the future at some point you can simply search the USCG website for the form numbers that I have included in the description above to find the new or current forms at that time.
