After 18 months exploring from the glaciers of Alaska to the boobies of the Galapagos, Gargoyle is in need a trip to the yacht spa. It has been a full two years since Gargoyle was last hauled and we are anxious to see how the bottom paint has been holding up to the monthly scrapings and the time at sea. Shelter Bay Marina has been our planned stop for some time and after a quick canal transit the time has come to put Gargoyle on the stands and get her painted, waxed and shined for her upcoming season in the Caribbean. In addition to these items, we take advantage of being in a major shipping hub to get our Viking life raft serviced and recertified. One big bonus of Shelter Bay during the pandemic is that they have a hotel on site so all four of us can luxuriate in air conditioned comfort while Gargoyle gets a much needed spa treatment.
