Ep20 To Brest
Ep20 We set off to leave the UK water and head for Brest on the north west coast of France.
We leave Falmouth in good weather, with sailing boats all around us. It is not long before we are joined by a school of dolphins which keep us entertained for a good few hours.
As the sun starts to set the waves increase and start to make the motion of the boat a little unpleasant.
As the night rolls by we enter the shipping lanes that are going around the top for France with a good gap in the traffic we head across the lanes and safely to the north of France.
As morning breaks and the crew come to life, it is quickly apparent that Rebecca is not well with the waves being very rolly, we speed our way as quick as we can to Breast.
Entering the river sees the waves and wind easing and with that Rebecca also starts feeling better.
Once at the marina a quick call on vhf gets us a berth and a man with the little boat to show us where to go.
The next day after a good nights sleep we head out on foot to find the immigrations to check us and the boat in to the country. The days see us getting the dog checked in and getting the boat ready for the next step of the trip across the Bay of Biscay.
