[Ep 55] We Had to Change Plans in the Sea of Cortez
We set out from San Francisquito with a simple plan… but the Sea of Cortez had other ideas.
In this episode of SmoCo Sailing, we head north into the Midriff Islands, one of the most remote and dynamic regions in the Sea of Cortez. With strong winds, powerful tidal currents, and narrow anchorages, things didn’t go quite as expected.
After adjusting our plan, we make our way to Isla Animas, a remote anchorage with crystal-clear water, incredible marine life, and not another boat in sight.
From navigating tricky conditions to enjoying calm days and clear water at anchor, this is what sailing in Baja is really like.
