The Oyster service team in Las Palmas had suggested engine service tasks, but there wasn’t time to do them, so I arranged for the necessary parts to be ordered through the Yanmar service center at Rodney Bay (Island Water World is distributer for Yanmar there). Once we arrived I scheduled the work, and then got busy on cleaning the anchor locker, replacing our davit cables with Dynema, and having machine shop work done on our mast furling assembly.
New Years Eve came and we celebrated with Thai food and watched the fireworks.
When all that was complete, we decided to sail down to Marigot Bay, a hurricane hole located about ten miles south that we heard had a nice resort (which it did). It was fun to finally start getting out on the water for day sails.
