We typically plan our haulouts for work months in advance due to their cost. Unfortunately, this week we have our first emergency haulout to address a potential keel grid issue on Gargoyle. We noticed cracks in our bilge and after a visit by not one but two surveyors, we have decided to haul out again to access the damage and repair. Luckily getting repair done is easier here in New Zealand than anywhere else we have been due to the substantial number of custom boat builders. So, after consulting local sailing experts, we settle on the builder known across New Zealand, Brin Wilson. Follow along as we haul Gargoyle, access the damage, and get her back to better than new condition. And stick along to the end as we will talk pricing as well for this type of repair.
