We spend some time exploring the town of Caraquet New Brunswick on foot and by bicycle.
Situated right on the shore of Chaleur Bay on New Brunswick’s Acadian Penninsula Caraquet seemed to us a mythical destination after battling 30 knot head winds to get there
We were just plain happy finding ourselves among the warm Acadian people with Caraquet town it’s fishing boats and surrounding spruce forest as the backdrop
It’s always hard with the boat far from our home, we’re a bit like bareboat charterers, arrive 1 day, provision then jump abord and leave without 1st getting a chance to aclimatize to life on the water. I get sea sick, fortaunlty Jayne does not
Due to our laid back approach to sailing and some stiff head winds we just missed Caraquets Festival Acadian that happened in mid August.
It’s a famouse celebration of Acadian culture through song, dance and events
