Coppercoat, cutlass bearing and cats - Sailing Helios S02E03 #Coppercoat #boatlife
Finally, we started our last big project for the winter, Coppercoat anti-fouling. We are grateful to have friends come and help as Richard is still restricted with his movements so soon after his emergency surgery.
Winter is coming to an end and we have our final marina BBQ as we say goodbye to friends departing and little furry ones that are staying. Hopefully, we will see them all next winter.
We replace our cutlass bearing and then we are finally back in the water, ready for the season ahead.

We Didn’t Plan to Stop in Canet – Here’s Why We Had To – Sailing Helios S04E25
We didn’t plan to come back to Canet-en-Roussillon. A few weeks ago the plan was to return west through the Balearic Islands. Then a chance encounter with some fellow Aussies changed everything — and we found ourselves heading back to Canet, the marina where we first laid eyes on Helios in May 2023...

Leaving Italy for the Caribbean: Sailing Helios S04E23
Our visitors have gone and it’s time to get going. This is as far east as we sail this season. From here we turn around and start heading west — west all the way to the Caribbean. First, though, we have a date in Canet in mid-August. With a break in the westerlies, we need to make haste and get mov...
Italian coastal adventures: Ponza and Gaeta
We’re back in Ponza after sailing across from Sardinia. The island is as pretty as we remembered — a colourful Italian seaside town with a long and surprising history — and we have a few quiet days before Richard’s youngest son, Oakley, joins us on his European holiday. The forecast, however, has ot...
