Welcome to Out Chasing Stars! We're Admiral Amy and Captain David and we're currently exploring the world on s/v Starry Horizons, our Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 catamaran. We started out (nervously!) watching our boat get launched in La Rochelle, France in October of 2014. Since then we've completed an entire world circumnavigation, sailing over 37,000nm, and documented it all here on YouTube. We started making these videos to show our family and friends what life was like on a sailboat, and we're still amazed that other people have also started following along. We weren’t quite done yet sailing around Vanua Balavu’s Inner Lagoon. After the Oyster Rally cleared out, we sailed over to a beautiful spot called Bavatu Harbour. We had it all to ourselves and found a nice hike up to a stunning lookout back over the Bay of Islands. It was absolutely magical, even if we did have to endure a rain shower to enjoy the view.
Back on Starry Horizons, we continued around east side of the Inner Lagoon to an island called Susui. There we got two special treats. First, the chief allowed us to film the entire sevu sevu ceremony! And second, our friends Lewis and Alyssa from s/v Quixotic managed to sail in just in time for us to hang out once more! It was the perfect way to wrap up our time in Vanua Balavu. Next stop: Fulanga!
