Sitting Headroom Adjustments in the Boat on 27 April 2024
On [27 April 2024], Sven Yrvind made some important adjustments to his boat, focusing on enhancing its stability and performance. The main objective was to adjust the headroom or sitting position within the boat. He decided to make it slightly lower by adding 5 cm more, bringing it down to 45 cm in reality after consultation with his friend and carpenter, Peter. According to Sven’s calculations, the new boot measures 5.6 m, which is approximately 30% smaller than the old one at 6.2 meters in length. The beam of the new boat has been reduced to 1.2 meters from the previous 1.4 meters, and this contributes to an increase in the overall height to maintain a better stability ratio. Despite being busy on Friday, Peter managed to complete all necessary calculations for these modifications. However, as expected, he was not available over the weekend due to other commitments.Boat Design and Stability Improvements
Sven Yrvind explained that although the new boat is 30% smaller than the old one, it maintains a similar stability range due to its reduced beam size. With an ideal ratio of 1:1 (beam to height), this boat achieves enhanced center-of-gravity control and performance.Future Plans
