Welcome to Out Chasing Stars! We're Admiral Amy and Captain David and we're currently exploring the world on s/v Starry Horizons, our Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 catamaran. We started out (nervously!) watching our boat get launched in La Rochelle, France in October of 2014. Since then we've completed an entire world circumnavigation, sailing over 37,000nm, and documented it all here on YouTube. We started making these videos to show our family and friends what life was like on a sailboat, and we're still amazed that other people have also started following along. Have you ever imagined escaping to a beautiful tropical paradise? An uninhabited island with crystal clear blue water, sandy beaches and palm trees? Well that’s what we found when we arrived in Kauehi, our first atoll in the Tuamotus.
The sail down from the Marquesas was a bit slow thanks to some unexpected light winds, but we did catch a few fish to make up for it. After making our way through the pass into Kauehi, we discovered our friends Gina and Jose on Carthago were inside the atoll and we quickly altered plans to go spend some time with them. Somehow, life in paradise is even better when you spend time with friends!
