Today I recieved the ruddr axis in G 11 epoxy laminate from Elisolation Laxå. Its 11 kilos and have a diameter of 80 mm.
I estimate it will be strong enough for 30 tonnes 1 meter leverage. Stronger than any skeg.
In the same delivery I got a piece of 25 mm g 11 epoxy laminate for small skegs that will deflect anything trying to jam under the spade rudder.
Together with the bronze rudder it will be a strong assembly. Heavy but it will give me piece of mind. One more thing I will never have to worry about. The axis is inert and the rudder is antifouling.
