Welcome to Out Chasing Stars! We're Admiral Amy and Captain David and we're currently exploring the world on s/v Starry Horizons, our Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 catamaran. We started out (nervously!) watching our boat get launched in La Rochelle, France in October of 2014. Since then we've completed an entire world circumnavigation, sailing over 37,000nm, and documented it all here on YouTube. We started making these videos to show our family and friends what life was like on a sailboat, and we're still amazed that other people have also started following along. (And yes, we do recognize the irony of wanting to respect local regulations and customs while still going to islands not on our travel list. It’s a very complicated subject and difficult to elaborate on in a short video. But we did have several conversations about it with various officials and tried to limit our visits to inhabited islands to ones that were already home to tourist guesthouses.)
