Just under 100 boats attended the Sydney amateur Sailing Club’s Gaffer’s Day regatta on Sydney Harbour today. In the “Ranger Couta Boats” division of 25 yachts the Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull skippered his Couta Gaffer in a very fickle 8 knot breeze. The first part of the race was in this light east south easterly until the sea breeze came in and the pressure was steady. See an “interesting” mark rounding squeesing the PM. Later we retrieve a hat for Sir James Hardy’s crew member. His beautiful gaffer Nerida was in fantastic condition.
