Day 3 of the Vendée Globe dawned, with much of the fleet having gone through their first bout of testing conditions around Cape Finister.
Though the margins are still small, it’s British ‘rookie’ sailor Sam Goodchild, competing in his first Vendée Globe on Vulnerable, that is currently leading the pack according to the race tracker.
After Sunday’s light winds start, the 40-boat fleet remained closely packed for a gentle Biscay crossing, with just 50 miles separating first and last Imocas after the first 24 hours of racing.
Charlie Dalin and Macif, tipped by many to be one of the race favourites, took the early lead. Macif was first to Finister, passing inside the T S S, (traffic separation zone) along the Galician coast.

This is Team Malizia’s first weekly recap of this Vondée Globe edition! Dive in with them as we follow Boris through his first three days at sea, packed with onboard updates, and an emotional moment! Not too much content this week, as it’s only been three days since the start! Boris is settling back into the rhythm of life at sea and tackling some tough weather conditions.

Catch the excitement from the Nacra 17 European Championship in beautiful Sferracavallo, Italy!

This recap covers some of the best highlights from the Nacra 17 European Championships, where teams battled it out on the Mediterranean waters for the prestigious European title.
After a series of intense races, the Dutch duo, Willemijn Offerman, and Scipio Houtman, emerged as the new European Champions, showcasing skill and determination.
Italy’s own Gianluigi Ugolini, and Maria Giubilei, fought hard to secure the silver medal, while Belgian siblings Kwinten and Lieselotte Borghij,s claimed bronze, and earned the Junior European Champion title.

Maxime Sorel climbs the mast of his IMOCA, V and B Monbana Mayenne, to try to repair his mainsail problem which is doing whatever it wants. Diminished but not defeated, the skipper of the Dragon des Océans, is looking for a solution to repair his problems in order to get back on track in the best possible conditions.

The defining moment of the championship was certainly the first downwind of the women’s final.
Lysa Caval of France won the opening series despite damaging her right ankle during a dramatic crash on day one. She went into the first-to-three points finals with two bonus points ahead of Derin Atakan of Türkiye who had one bonus point.

Justine Lemeteyer, & Pierre Mortefon, crowned Foil Slalom World Champions, while Marion Mortefon, & Johan Søe, walk away from Japan as event champions.
The 2024 Fly! ANA Yokosuka, Miura Windsurf World Cup, may not have yielded quite as many races as last year, but on the second and third days, Tsukuihama beach Yokosuka, still produced some great racing to decide the outcome of the 2024 Foil Slalom PWA World Champions.
