Exclusive: What Went Wrong in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race North Sails' Michael Coxon
www (What Went Wrong) in the “Hobart”. Geoff Waller of www.boatson.tv talks exclusively to North Sails’ Michael Coxon on what happened in the recent disastrous 2015 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race when 31 yachts retired. Cocko talks sails, sail handling, asymmetric v symmetric sails, which boats should be using them, dagger-boards good and bad, reefing, what happened on the first night in the big wind change and much more. All boat owners and sailors should listen to his thoughts as seamanship is very important. He also gives insight into sailing on Sydney Harbour and how his local knowledge gave LOYAL the drop on the opposition by beating them out of the Harbour first. A complete review on the race which is not only enlightening but very informative for all sailors.
