Eight teams vie for the “silverware” at the top of the Australian Women Match Race Championships on gusty/rainy Pittwater, Sydney.
3 teams from the host Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club lined up against 3 from the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia one from Perth and finally a 5 girl crew from the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.
Day 1 was started with a big south westerly squall that had all the crews hanging on for dear life. Then the sun came out and all dried out.
The action goes on through the Sept 26-17 weekend with the winner decided in the finals around 1430 on Sunday.
Here is our “Ruff-Cut” of the action in Day 1.
