The America’s Cup Superyacht Regatta has become a staple companion event of the America’s Cup since the first one in New Zealand in 2000. This year, the America’s Cup will host a fleet of some 15 superyachts ranging in size from 85 feet to 300 feet. Many will be berthed along the eastern seawall of the America’s Cup Park, at Piers 27/29.
The Superyacht Regatta is scheduled September 9, 11 and 13, during the off-days of the America’s Cup Finals, with one race per day. The race committee hopes to set courses on San Francisco Bay, but the deep draft of some of the yachts may require a course that stretches out the Bay under the Golden Gate Bridge.
