America's Cup French Challenger Orient Express AC75 Description, Build and Launch Report. Interviews

Experience a thrilling ride into the world of high-speed racing with Orient Express AC75, the new addition to the French challenge team for the highly-anticipated Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup. After years of preparation and meticulous design, the race boat made its debut appearance in Barcelona on May 26, 2023.

Raise of the Ori…nt Express AC75

Rolling out at a scheduled time of 6:30 am, Orient Express AC75’s appearance immediately captured the attention of marine sports enthusiasts and industry professionals alike. Designed to be a sibling to the previous generation’s AC75 model (Toro) by Team New Zealand, the French competitor boasts a distinct blue hue with golden trimmings along its body.

Technical Highlights of Orient Express AC75

The boat’s technical specifications are worth exploring. Notably, it has white logos on its foil arms, featuring black stocks and blades painted uniformly in black to create a cohesive look.

While the shape of its bow initially presents challenges in providing clear visual cues as seen in Kiwi boats like Toro, the team’s comments suggest that there are subtle, distinct nuances which set this new addition apart.

Orient Express Racing Team – Ambitions and Plans

The christening ceremony for Orient Express AC75 is set for May 29th, following its first official sailing day on June 4th. The team’s determination to make waves in this high-stakes competition reflects years of hard work and strategic investments.

Building Foundations Beyond the America’s Cup

Beyond individual race achievements, Orient Express Racing Team‘s commitment to the future of French sailing is evident in their long-term alliance with Lorient Agglomeration. This agreement sets a new standard for technological advancements and collaboration within France’s sailing industry.

Q&A with Bruno Dubrule, Orient Express AC75 Skipper

In an exclusive interview, Bruno Dubrule, skipper of Orient Express AC75, shares insights into their design choices and testing plans. Their decision to rely on Team New Zealand’s design package is underscored by the respect for international rules and competition fairness.

Towards Victory in the America’s Cup

With testing complete, the team is now focused on refining every detail ahead of their first race week. This dedication echoes throughout their program and highlights the ambitious spirit driving Orient Express AC75’s pursuit for victory in the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup.
