An older dude who feels 30 sails the world on a small yacht and tells his live large adventures. Follow him from the beginning when he looks for a sailboat and buys it. Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.

Three years ago I never sailed on the open ocean. And here I am in the Mid-Atlantic 300NM off the coast of Africa between the Canary Islands and Cabo Verde. And that’s where I’m going Cape Verde in Africa. In my trusty 37 year old Galopin. A 40ft Jeanneau SunFizz sailboat. I’m accompanied by Natacha, a French Comoran. We’re an odd duo. Very different, but with a similar appetite to travel. We call ourselves modern nomads. And together we’ve decided to sail to West Africa beginning with Cabo Verde. An independent African nation archipelago consisting of ten islands. Then we hope to continue to Senegal, The Gambia, Guinée Bissau and who knows where else we’ll venture. The Caribbean? Not yet. That’s for tourists. We’re adventurers. There is a fascinating continent on this side of the ocean that beckons us. This is Winded Voyage Season 4
