She needed to continue learning. So we sailed out of Mindelo Bay in common Cape Verde conditions. 20kts of wind from the North East. And as usual, wind gust can double. We are prepared, but then again, you’re never prepared. And we both got an Atlantic bitch slap sailing lesson.

On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.
