We were just going out to buy some new batteries in Dakar. The city was unusually quiet because of fear of rioting in the streets. As I was purchasing the batteries we heard crowd noises and our eyes were stinging. Police were throwing tear gas at the rioters. We got out in time so that we could install the batteries in my sailboat.

He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.
