These are the salt mines of Pedra de Lume. They date back to 1796. The salt was discovered inside the crater of this extinct volcano. The water is twenty seven times saltier than sea water. So you float and bob about. It cleanses the skin and leaves it silky smooth. But beware of any cut or sensitive skin, for it will sting. Wendy and Fannie take the sting out and bring joy to the experience
