In this case partying in Mindelo is a family affair. I went out to a big beach party with Wendy’s mom, Alcinda and her brother Eric. Everyone loves to party here. But I went a bit too far and got very sick. I got overe it fast and cured myself with a solo sail in the Canal Do Sao Vicente. A wake up call. This is what it’s all about when living aboard and sailing Galopin in Cabo Verde Africa.

Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.
