I was contacted to see if I would be interested in delivering a sailboat to French Guyana. There had a captain, but he bailed last minute. We settled on a price. I said I’d be ready to go in a couple of days. That day I checked out the boat. It was loaded with food, water and fuel. We went through a quick inspection. The boat seemed solid. I knew the previous owner. A Frenchmen who had taken great care of his boat. I wasn’t sure if I’d film this adventure, but after a few days, I decided why not. And it’s all shot with a just phone camera.

Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.
