It’s been about a month since my debilitating injury which has forced me to be confined to my boat. But thanks to the miracle of life, my old body is healing and I plan my escape. Two of the best friends anyone can have come to my aid as accomplices in my escape. The timing included perfect weather for the operation. Free at last and escaping my confinement by way of the open ocean. And for once it’s smooth sailing in Cape Verde.

Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.
