Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.

In light of recent events, I have spoken out in support of Black Lives Matter in this episode. I am in Africa and a minority. I have been treated with respect by the wonderful people here in Cape Verde. And it’s with absolute pleasure that I share what I have with friends I have made here. For now the lockdown is lifted and we were free to sail. Together we discover hidden natural pools. Make food, drink and dance in stunning anchorages. We’re united by friendship, good times and the discovery of a few special places on the island of Sao Vicente.
