Lou and I are so grateful for the chance to get to know this family and share their story with you. We’ve learned so much from our time not only at their farm but also exploring the taro fields they are planting. This visit was especially profound for us both because we got to experience the traditional process of making poi. Poi is made by hand-pounding the boiled taro plant and has been part of Hawaiian culture for centuries. Daniel has a great TedTalk and during it, he makes poi from start to finish!
