Please don't SINK! - UNTIE THE LINESS4E23

Karl is back in the water! One more time he got his butt fixed and is floating again. Thank you so much to all of you for your encouraging words and for the support of our videos, which helps to keep Karl afloat!

After various discussions with different professionals, I decided to import a big 8mm 5086 aluminum plate from the states that will be welded on to the hull from the outside.

Before putting the plate on, we cut six holes in the hull with a diameter of each 12cm where the plate will be welded to the boat from the inside first.

I hired a welder, David, who works for an aluminum ship builder in Panamá and it seemed that him and his helper did a good job. The plate feels solid, no water coming in so far, so fingers crossed that it will hold up!

Oh, and say hi to my new crew Simon! So great to have some company and a second set of hands on board!

Ahoy, Nike & Karl

This is NOT a live documentary! There is a time difference between filming and publishing due to the time it takes to send data home, to edit the episodes and to internet not always being awailable on those little remote palm tree islands :).
