First of all, I’d like to send out a big Thank You to all of those who have chipped in to support Untie The Lines during the last two weeks! Karl is going to the boat hospital one more time, so your contributions to Untie The Lines will be invested into his fix up.
After discussing different options with different professionals, I decided to fix Karl one more time. We will weld an aluminum sheet on top of the existing one again. But this time, I will import the correct matching alloy (Karl is made from 5083 and I am getting 5086) and also a thicker plate from the states. On top of that, we will cut six 10cm diameter holes into the bottom where we will weld the sheet to from the inside…But more about that…😋
