Welcome back to another episode of WE|Sail. EPISODE 338
I’m Warren, this is Erica, and over the last seven years we’ve slowly been working on a circumnavigation that we promised family would only take two.
Lately we find ourselves in Fiji, and we chose to do something very few other cruisers do—we chose to sit out cyclone season on our boat. In the water. Sailing around.
It’s not difficult showing the beauty of all these amazing places our unique life lets us experience. But what is difficult sometimes is showing the realities of this lifestyle at the same time.
Like this: four days stuck on the boat after last week’s cyclone. The storm passed, but the weather system behind it is still here. Rain, grey skies, nowhere to go. We can’t dive, can’t explore, can’t get off the boat. Just us, waiting for the weather to clear.
So what do we do? We find projects. We bake cookies. We fix a leaky galley faucet. And we work—because this is our full-time job.
We’re YouTubers. Making these videos is how we support our adventures and keep this lifestyle going. And rainy days? That’s when we’re actually most productive. No distractions, no snorkeling breaks, no exploring. Just us, the boat, and the editing timeline.
This episode pulls back the curtain a bit. We’re showing you what we don’t usually film—the editing process, the boat projects, the reality of being stuck aboard for days, and how we balance making content with actually living this lifestyle.
