Nearly a week of grey skies, rain, and nowhere to go. That’s the paradise tax — and this week, it finally came due. But when the sun broke through and the water turned that perfect shade of turquoise? Every single grey day was worth it.
After surviving the tail end of a cyclone system stuck on the boat with serious cabin fever, we set sail for a new island in Fiji’s Yasawa chain. We were chasing sunshine, a stunning anchorage, and honestly — a cold Corona on the beach. We found all three.
This episode is pure reward. A beautiful remote resort, crystal clear turquoise water, cocktails, sunshine, and the kind of afternoon that reminds you exactly why you traded a life on land for a life on the water.
