At the 2016 U.S. Sailboat Show in Annapolis, Maryland, TheSailingChannel.TV talks with Meghan Matthews with Orca Green Marine about its new Omni Charging Buoy. This revolutionary device uses cutting edge technologies to capture and store electricity from solar, wind, current and tide, waves, and kinetic energy.
Boaters will be able to pull up to an Omni Charging Mooring Buoy and charge their battery banks from the environment. Each buoy contains a 240 amp hour battery to store energy. For large mooring fields, the system will include large salt water ion battery banks that can store up to 10KW of excess energy created by the buoys.
