TheSailingChannel.TV has restored and transferred to HD the classic circumnavigation sailing film, “Beyond the West Horizon,” filmed by Eric & Susan Hiscock aboard their 30 foot wooden sloop, Wanderer III from 1959 to 1962.
Lin and Larry Pardey are the most notable cruising couple of our time. As young sailors, their heroes were Eric and Susan Hiscock who became their sailing mentors. In this exclusive interview by TheSailingChannel.TV, Lin and Larry share their remembrances of the Hiscocks and their classic sailing film, Beyond the West Horizon.
Building on the cruising skills shared by the Hiscocks, Lin and Larry went on to cruise over 200,000 miles, complete two circumnavigations, write hundreds of magazine articles, a dozen sailing books and produce 5 videos. They’ve received numerous sailing awards from prestigious organizations like the Cruising Club of America and have inspired tens of thousands to go to sea in small sailboats.
