"As Long As It's Fun" Pardey Biography

In this exclusive interview with TheSailingChannel.TV, Cruising World Senior Editor, Herb McCormick describes his new biography about Lin and Larry Pardey, “As Long as It’s Fun: The Epic Voyages and Extraordinary Times of Lin and Larry Pardey”.

The Pardeys are renowned cruising sailors who began their sailing adventures in the early 1960’s. They’ve circumnavigated east to west and west to east, and cruised north and south from the southern oceans to Scandinavia – all on engineless wooden sailboats they built themselves. Winners of numerous awards and honors, the Pardeys have written thirteen books, hundreds of magazine articles, and made five sailing documentaries based on their voyages.

McCormick recounts the Pardey’s remarkable sailing career—from their early days in Southern California to to their current life in a quiet cove in New Zealand. Through interviews with their families, friends, and critics, he delves deeply into the couple’s often-controversial opinions, sometimes-tenuous marriage, and amazing list of accomplishments. This biography is as much a love story as it is a sea yarn. A great read hard to put down once you begin.
