Our First Passage Ends in Disaster – France to Gibraltar Gone Wrong ⛵
After months of anticipation, our dream was finally becoming reality: we set sail from the west coast of France on a 10-day passage to Gibraltar, ready to begin our new life sailing the Med on our liveaboard catamaran.
Our Skipper and First Mate joined us, the boat was prepped, and we were ready to take on the Bay of Biscay and Orca Alley — but what followed was far from what we expected.
From brutal weather delays to painfully slow progress, seasickness, and unexpected setbacks, this journey pushed us harder than anything we’ve faced so far. And just as we thought we were finding our rhythm… disaster struck.
This episode follows us as we cross the Bay of Biscay and looks at the reality of sailing long passages — the highs, the lows, and the moments that test how much you really want the dream.
