The search for our next blue water, performance catamaran continues this week in New Zealand. It’s an Outremer 55 Standard that hasn’t hit the market yet. The seller assures us it’s “ready to circumnavigate” which is perfect since we’re ready to circumnavigate. It sounds too good to be true, but there’s only one way to find out and that’s to go see it ourselves in Whangarei. Whangarei is a “boat” city on the North Island just south of the Bay of Islands. A perfect place to launch our next dream!
Did you know Boating is New Zealand’s largest recreational activity with 40 per cent of the population participating in boating each year. With the nation’s fleet growing by an estimated 44,810 vessels per year, you would think we could surely find a boat here.
