This is not your average charter catamaran conversion. We take our time and deep-dive into the details of the Voyage 580, Top Secret. Four electric motors, the biggest solar array I’ve ever seen, a massive battery bank, and a million dollar investment, the boat is remarkable and so is the owner Rean Snyman, who along with friends and a couple laborers, completely rebuilt the boat in two years. It’s an amazing boat. This is the kind of project I would take on if time and money were no object.
I learned a lot talking to Rean about Top Secret. We get into the nitty-gritty in this walk through, talking details about carpentry, paint, gelcoat, wiring, A/C, electric drives from OceanVolt, sail handling, etc., etc. Prepare to geek out a bit on boats and systems!
