Life lately - did he FAKE his injury? Ep. 65

This year has brought about the most unpredictable year of our lives, it feels like only a week ago we were riding the waves of living on our sailboat in the Caribbean Sun. We thought we had life temporarily figured out; we were applying for jobs looking to get back on our feet financially and spend the next few months planning out the year.

Then Tanner got hurt, and it wasn’t just any old injury – it brought us to California for surgery and several weekly doctor’s appointments and physical therapy that would now consume our lives for the next four months. You might think we are super pissed off, but actually we are completely at peace with the way things are.

The Trust in Uncertainty

We trust that there are no such thing as coincidences and the path we are on is the path meant for us. Our journey isn’t over, it’s just been redirected.

The Ups and Downs

We’re taking the good with the bad and reminding each other that regardless of what happens, we made our dream a reality.

The Journey Continues

We are waiting for our Uber to arrive; Carlsbad gets pricey when you’re going back and forth. Our appointment is in Westminster, which is like a 25-minute drive from here. We’re going to go get this guy looked at – hopefully, get this off.

The Power of Movement

We have our physical therapy appointment tomorrow morning, and we’re gonna kind of get the whole like works of how he should be treating this injury. We’ll keep you updated.

A New Perspective

In the meantime, we’ve picked up some unexpected hobbies like homesteading, and Tanner is putting his maintenance skills to work. His mom has a peach tree in the backyard that needed attending to along with many other projects that we are more than happy to help her with.

Lights Out – Time to Unplug

Nobody wants Tanner to get rusty with any maintenance projects, so his mom and I are going to put him to work. Naturally, he’s going to do redo all of her electrical outlets in the house with one hand. We have to keep him on his toes.

Texico – Our Guiding Light

In this house, we live and die by Texico. If the lights are on in Texico, we know we’re going to be safe. Does the fog come and the lights go out? No. We won’t be our last power outage here in Texas, but we sure know how to make them fun. Power down why not?

That’s where we’re at now, navigating this new chapter and continuing to document the changes life brings us.
