SAILING BRAZIL is it REALLY DANGEROUS?
We’ve been warned by countless sailors and travellers: “Brazil is dangerous. Don’t walk anywhere at night. Don’t take your phone. Be careful in Salvador.” But is it really that bad?
In this episode, after crossing the Southern Atlantic, we explore the historic heart of the city, ride the famous Elevator Lacerda and wander the colourful streets of Pelourinho.
But the biggest surprise? Sailing across the bay to Bom Jesus Island, the locals welcomed us with open arms, inviting us into their homes and sharing food with us. Brazil showed us warmth, generosity, and kindness.
We also say farewell to Declan and Ivan , as they travel south the Rio.
