11 DAYS SAILING TO THE WORLD’S MOST REMOTE INHABITED ISLAND – EXPLORING ST HELENA
After the excitement of Henley Royal Regatta, this week we return to our sailing adventures and one of the world’s most remote inhabited islands in the world, St Helena.
Perched in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean. With just 4000 residents, this volcanic outpost is 1,200 miles from Africa and 1,800 miles from South America.
In this episode, we explore what makes St Helena so unique, from it’s friendly locals, it’s windy roads and scenic walks, to it’s rich maritime history as a vital stop for ships rounding the Cape of Good Hope before Suez Canal opened.
We also welcome back some familiar faces from past voyages, Clint and his five year old son Ollie, who will be joining us for our next blue water cruising, from St Helena to Salvador, Brazil, but first they get a taste of island life in one of the most isolated places on the planet.
If you enjoy offshore sailing adventures, rare travel destinations and life at sea you’ll love this episode.
