Who Are The Adventure Travelers?

We quit our corporate jobs, sold most everything we own, got out of debt, bought a sailboat and started to sail to the South Pacific. We sailed down the coast of Mexico in January 2016. As we made our way across to the Sea of Cortez, we decided to stay in La Paz and have our solar panel installed. We sailed to Puerto Vallarta and from there we left to cross the vast Pacific Ocean to French Polynesia.

It took us 24 days to cross the Pacific and tested our sailing, navigating and many other life skills. We sailed around French Polynesia for 6 months then decided it was time to go home to San Diego. Instead of leaving our boat in French Polynesia, we decided to sail it back to San Diego (In Novemeber!) so we would have a place to live while we sold the boat and shopped for an RV. It took us 24 days to sail our boat across the Pacific again to San Diego.

The November storms in the Nothern Pacific ocean were life threatening with waves up to 30 feet high. Fortunately, we were able to sail around the weather and got back to San Diego in one piece. This sounds way easier than it was!

After a few months of bad weather, we finally sold the sailboat and purchased our RV with the funds from the sailboat. We looked for something that would enable us to boon-dock (primitive camping) yet be comfortable enough to enjoy the next journey.

We started in San Diego and drove the ultimate road trip across the country to the east coast. After traveling around for a few months, we started for Canada, then Alaska. This short abbreviation of our travels seems so simple, but we can tell you that this type of travel will change you.

We were able to give 5 safe drinking water filters to indigenous families in French Polynesia thanks to Waves for Water. Each filter cleans 1,000,000 gallons of water. In Canada, we found entire communities who were rationing water because of fires in the area of British Columbia, so the remainder of our filters went to the fire fighters and families who needed them.

We are continuing to travel and explore Alaska and the united States. We hope to inspire other people who are stuck in a life without joy to “JUST GO” and find out what happens. We have never regretted a moment of hardship because it’s changed our way of seeing the world, our families and other people who struggle to make the decision to travel full time.
