Current Cut & Yellow Bank: Navigating the Bahamas' Coral Minefield

Episode 46

In today's episode, we leave Spanish Wells and set our course for Highborne Cay, navigating two of the Bahamas' most notorious challenges along the way.

First, we round Meeks Patch and head south toward Current Island before timing our passage through the powerful Current Cut. From there, we enjoy some absolutely spectacular champagne sailing before facing our next obstacle: the infamous Yellow Bank, a shallow maze of coral heads and bommies where good visibility is everything.

Thankfully, the weather cooperates, giving us the calm seas, predictable conditions, and bright sunlight needed to safely pick our way through both hazards. After an incredible day on the water, we make it through unscathed, drop the hook at Highborne Cay, and start preparing for the adventures ahead.

We'll be exploring Highborne in much greater detail in the next episode, and we can't wait to share it with you.

We really hope you like this one! Thank you so much for letting us share our story with you.
