To wedge the tilting mast or lash it. Thats the question. + Bonus

Yesterday some people suggested that I should use wedges for the tilting mast. That would keep it in the desired position sequerely. The new problems arose. How to unwedge the mast.
That is certainly possible but most likely a tool is needed at least occasionaly. That means that the tool hae to be on hand all the time. Also according to Murphy when not desired the wedge may decide to unwedge himself at the least convinient time. To prevent that he have to be lashed down.
So what is the best?
Lashings have been around for thousands of years. Lately strong ropes have made the method even better.
Unfortunately the technique of doing a strong lashing is now not common. People depend on ratchet straps and such stuff.
I am intersted in working with ropes and understand the physics behind good knots.
I am convinced that I can do a very good lashing.

As abonus some pictures of the Exlex 2018 sailing from Ireland to Porto Santo 2018 taking 40 days. I enjoyed myself despite that the rudder system broke down due to the carbon tubes shringking as the weather gots warmer.
