2015 about that time I realised that I could not be happy with Yrvind Ten so after about three years I scrapped her.
The bronze bilge keels I saved for a time they might come in handy.
Now is that time but they will be cast into a different shape and more bronze will be added.
I guess they are about 60 kilos each, 120 total. I aim for 200 -250 total for the new boat. To much might make her snappy and slow.
I did fasten them well to the old boat with good power tools I have been working the whole day to get rid of the composite. I am not even half way but now I have the Idea how to do it so tomorrow work will hopefully be more rapid.
The composite is very strong. Now it gives me hard work. At the same time I marvel of the strenght and it realy feels good.
I remember the first time I tested composite and could moulded wood. I had sailed many years made many ocean passages in the first Bris and always felt safe.
What a schock it was to see how brittle wood was compared to composite.
It is not so much that wood is such a brittle and bad material but that composite is so increabeable strong and good.
Words cannot convince that feeling but trying a whole day to take away the composite from the bronze, that is what makes belive.
I never go back to wood.
