Exlex the canoe yawl is similar to Bris a double ender I started to build 1971. I sailed her many miles 72- 76 and later 82 -83. She was 6 meter long 1.72 beam, loaded displacement 1.3 tons. Exlex is 6.26 long 1.4 meter beam displacement about 1 ton. Sail area will be similar Bris had 10 square meter I remember but I often used less. She averaged about 90 miles. Her best run was 131 miles she often made 110 miles.

Hi My name is Sven Yrvind. I design, build and cruise small boats. 1962 I left Sweden in 15 feet converted Blekingseka. I soon found out that there was room for improvement. To understand the basic I began to study mathematics and engenering. 1968 I sailed to England via many contries in a converted 13 feet rowing boat. People told me I be more happy on a bigger boat. November that year I found a wreck an old steam launch build 1885 I converted her to a staysail schooner and sailed her to Rio de Janeiro. That voyage advised me that a bigger boat do not bring happiness, happiness is an inside thing. I designed a 6 meter doubble ender built her in my mother basement. Tried to sail around Cape Horn with her but was capsized and pitchpoled. Later I built an 5.9 meter boat in her I rounded Cape Horn in the southern winter June 1980.
