Here you can see me mowing the lead weights.
First I thought I would lean with my chest against a webbing..
Now I realise that using the other arm as a support for my back works just fine. Nothing like the the real thing when finding out how things work.
I am glad that I realised this idea in the last moment.
There is just one little place for it.
84 kilos 6 pieces of of 14 kilos is good. It is the weight of a man whose volyme is reduced to one tenth and can mowe from one bilge to the weather one.
At sea wind do increase slowly and decrease slowly. Mowing one piece at the time will be fine. When tacking they have to be mowed at the same time however but that is a rare occasion.
Default is three pieces on each side.

Hi My name is Sven Yrvind. I design, build and cruise small boats. 1962 I left Sweden in 15 feet converted Blekingseka. I soon found out that there was room for improvement. To understand the basic I began to study mathematics and engenering. 1968 I sailed to England via many contries in a converted 13 feet rowing boat. People told me I be more happy on a bigger boat. November that year I found a wreck an old steam launch build 1885 I converted her to a staysail schooner and sailed her to Rio de Janeiro. That voyage advised me that a bigger boat do not bring happiness, happiness is an inside thing. I designed a 6 meter doubble ender built her in my mother basement. Tried to sail around Cape Horn with her but was capsized and pitchpoled. Later I built an 5.9 meter boat in her I rounded Cape Horn in the southern winter June 1980.
